Recorder's Office Receives National Achievement Award for Interactive Kiosk

The Clark County Recorder’s Office has been recognized with an Achievement Award in information technology from the National Association of Counties (NACo) for its Remote Multipurpose Interactive Recording Kiosk. The awards honor innovative, effective county government programs that strengthen services for residents.

The Recorder’s Office RMIR Kiosk provides the public with a quick and easy process to retrieve copies and record both property and land records from a remote location. Since the implementation of the RMIR Kiosk, the stand-alone system has reduced customer’s wait time to receive copies of documents. The Kiosk is user- friendly and customers interact in real time with a Deputy Recorder located at the Recorder’s main office on the second floor of the Clark County Government Center in downtown Las Vegas. The Kiosk provides an immediate response for customers, improved customer service, reduced customer traffic flow, and has served as one of the many technological enhancements that has increased the revenue stream for the County and the State.

“This creative technology allows our constituents the opportunity to interface with a Recorder in our office and transact business face to face by merely touching the screen,” said Clark County Recorder Debbie Conway. “The RMIR Kiosk saves the customers time because there is no waiting in line.”

“Over the past year, county officials and frontline employees have demonstrated bold, inspirational leadership,” said NACo President Gary Moore. “This year’s Achievement Award winning programs illustrate the innovative ways counties build healthy, safe and vibrant communities across America.”

Nationally, awards are given in 18 different categories that reflect the vast, comprehensive services counties provide. The categories include children and youth, criminal justice and public safety, county administration, information technology, health, civic engagement and many more. Started in 1970, NACo’s annual Achievement Awards program is designed to recognize county government innovations. Each nominee is judged on its own merits and not against other applications received.
