The Voting Process

In Clark County, the voting process remains consistent across both Early Voting and Election Day. Each voting site is equipped with touchscreen voting machines that generate a voter-verifiable paper printout, which stays securely with the machine. Ballots and instructions are available in English, Spanish, and Filipino. It is important to note that results from Early Voting will not be tabulated until Election Day and only after the Secretary of State has indicated all statewide voting has ended, sometime after 7:00 p.m..

Here is a step-by-step guide to the process:

• Verification: Upon arrival, your eligibility will be verified, and your check-in signature will be compared to the one on file with the Election Department. It is always a good idea to bring a photo ID. Per Nevada law, the election clerk will announce your name (and political party in Primary Elections).
• Mail Ballots: If you did not opt-out of receiving a mail ballot but choose to vote in person instead:
• Surrender the ballot: If you have your mail ballot with you, you must surrender it at the voting site.
• No Mail Ballot on Hand: If you had received it but you do not have your mail ballot with you, you will need to sign an affirmation stating you are not voting twice in the same election.
• Real-Time Registration Updates: Voting sites are connected to the Election Department’s centralized voter registration system, ensuring your voter record is updated when you vote, preventing double voting.
• Activating the Voting Machine: After verification, you will receive a card to activate the voting machine. Insert the card into the voting machine, which will display the ballot for your precinct.
• Final Steps: Once you have cast your ballot, return the vote card and proudly collect your "I Voted" sticker.

Same-Day Registration and Updating Existing Registration
If you are not registered to vote yet, you may take advantage of same-day registration at any Early Voting site or Election Day Vote Center. Eligible individuals must present a current, valid Nevada Driver’s License, a current, valid Nevada DMV-issued State ID Card, a current, valid Nevada DMV “Interim Document,” or a current, valid Nevada tribal ID card (NRS 232.006) to register, and they will be required to vote using a provisional ballot. These forms of identification must all be unexpired.  You may also update your existing voter registration if your information has changed (no identification is required for this).

Election Day Vote Centers and Early Voting Sites Replace Assigned Polling Places
Gone are the days of having to vote at a specific polling place. On Election Day, you can vote at any Vote Center across Clark County. Each Vote Center is connected to a secure, real-time voter database, ensuring that your voting record is updated immediately to prevent double voting. Whether you are near home, work, or running errands, there is likely a Vote Center nearby for your convenience. You may also vote at any Early Voting site you choose, no matter where you live in the County or what your precinct is.
