Motorists Advised of CC-215 Closure in Southwest Valley Dec. 13-16 for Peace Way Bridge Construction

Motorists Advised of CC-215 Closure in Southwest Valley Dec. 13-16 for Peace Way Bridge Construction

Motorists are advised to plan ahead for a full, round-the-clock closure of the Clark County-215 Beltway in both directions from Tropicana Avenue to Flamingo Road over the weekend of Dec. 13 through Dec. 16 for construction of the Peace Way bridge over the freeway.

The closures will be staggered, starting with the northbound lanes on the Beltway closing at approximately 9 p.m. Friday, Dec.13, with lane reductions beginning as far south as Sunset Road. The southbound lanes will close at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec.14, with lane reductions starting as far north as Town Center Drive. Thereafter, both directions will be closed until 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16. The full closures are needed so crews can erect girders for the Peace Way bridge over the freeway. Message boards are in place along the freeway to notify motorists in advance of the closures.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes. The recommended detour around the work area is to use Fort Apache Road to access the CC-215 at Flamingo Road for northbound travel on the Beltway and to access the CC-215 at Tropicana Avenue for southbound travel.

Information about the Peace Way project is on Clark County’s Department of Public Works website at https://tinyurl.com/2mawbeda. With the exception of this weekend’s bridge work, project construction hours are generally 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. There also are 24-hour lane restrictions in place on Peace Way, one lane in each direction, due to roadwork construction.

This $19.8 million Clark County project includes roadway rehabilitation on Peace Way from Hualapai Way to Cimarron Road, the addition of curb, gutter and sidewalk improvements and construction of a traffic signal at Hualapai Way and Peace Way.  The project also includes construction of the bridge to connect Peace Way at Fort Apache Road west of the Clark County-215 Beltway and Chessie Court east of the Beltway.

The Peace Way project started in June 2024 and is expected to take about a year to complete. Motorists are advised to check navigation apps such as Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps for real-time information as they head out and to use alternate routes as needed while the project is under way.
