Clark County Launches Opt-In Text Service for Super Bowl Traffic Alerts

With preparations under way to host the Big Game at Allegiant Stadium on the Las Vegas Strip, Clark County has launched an SMS text update system to provide commuters with alerts about Super Bowl-related road closures, lane restrictions and traffic impacts.

The public is encouraged to opt-in to the service by texting SBLV to 31996. Those who sign up for the service will receive a text message on Sundays announcing traffic impacts so they can plan for the week ahead. Other reminders and updates may be sent during the week as needed.

“We are weeks away from hosting the first Super Bowl in Las Vegas. It is critical we keep our residents and visitors informed about scheduled road closures and other traffic and public transit impacts around Allegiant Stadium and the surrounding area,” said Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft, who serves as chairman of the Las Vegas Super Bowl Host Committee’s transportation sub-committee. “This service will be a great tool to alert motorists about impacts during the arrival of Super Bowl Week and the Big Game.”

Partial lane restrictions and road closures are beginning to occur around the stadium. Some proposed closures are pending review and approval by Clark County’s Public Works Department. The proposed schedule is on the Super Bowl Host Committee’s website at Updated information will be posted on the site in addition to details about transportation and parking for upcoming events. The Super Bowl will be held on Sunday, Feb. 11, in Las Vegas, with a full week of events leading up to game day. Clark County also has Super Bowl-related information on its website at

Commuters are advised that several agencies have construction projects under way in the resort corridor area. Due to the fluid nature of construction activity and traffic conditions, work schedules can change on short notice. Motorists should check navigation apps such as Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps for the latest real-time information as they head out. Additional information about various projects is available on these websites:
