Justice Assistance Grant (JAG)

The purpose of the JAG Program is to provide units of general purpose local government with funding to underwrite projects to reduce crime and improve public safety.

The grant is divided into seven components:

  • Law Enforcement Programs
  • Prosecution & Court Programs, including Indigent Defense
  • Corrections & Community Corrections Programs
  • Prevention & Educational Programs
  • Drug Treatment and Enforcement Programs
  • Planning, Evaluation, & Technology Improvement Programs
  • Crime Victim and Witness Programs (Other than Compensation)
  • Mental Health Programs and Related Law Enforcement and Corrections Programs (including Behavioral Programs and Crisis Intervention Teams)

2024 JAG

The JAG FY2024-2025 pre-application will be available beginning Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 8:00 AM (PDT) and will close on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 4:00 PM (PDT). 

The application will be available beginning Monday, May 20, 2024 at 8:00 AM (PDT) and will close on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 4:00 PM (PDT). Click HERE to apply.

The JAG FY2024-2025 pre-application and application will again be available beginning Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 8:00 AM (PDT) and will close on Tuesday, July 9th 2024 at 12:00 AM (PDT). Click HERE to apply.
