Clark County Public Arts is proud to present Here & Now juried exhibition.

The Clark County Public Art Office is proud to announce our newest exhibition, Here & Now: Contemporary Art in Las Vegas inside the Rotunda Gallery. This exhibition features Clark County artists only and acts as way to view the everyday lives and symbols of Las Vegas. The art in this exhibition is contemporary meaning it is of the present and documents what these artists experience living here in the Vegas Valley. The exhibition juried by Heather Harmon, executive director of the Las Vegas Museum of Art.

Exhibiting Dates: October 21, 2024 – December 12, 2024

Reception Event: Thursday, December 12^th, from 6PM – 8PM. There will be food, refreshments, and live music performed Switterbeat.

Call for Ekphrastic Poetry and Reading for Here & Now: Contemporary Art in Las Vegas

Deadline: Thursday, November 14, 2024, by 11:59 PM PST

In addition to the reception event, the new Clark Poet Laureate, Ashley “Ms. Ayevee” Vargas and the Public Arts Office is excited to announce an open call for poets to read their Ekphrastic Poetry during the current Here & Now Gallery Exhibition reception. The poetry must be inspired by the works currently on display at the Rotunda Gallery.

Submissions are open to any Clark County resident and all poetic forms but must be directly inspired by an artwork from the Here & Now exhibition. Three winners will be selected by the Poet Laureate and will be awarded $100 each.

To submit, please send one original ekphrastic poem and the title/artist of selected artwork from the Here & Now Exhibition by Thursday, November 14, 2024, by 11:59 PM PST, in our application portal below:

Location: Clark County Government Center is located at 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy, Las Vegas, Nevada 89155. The center is open Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and closed Friday – Sunday.
