Justice Court, North Las Vegas Township, has three Justices of the Peace elected for six-year terms, a Court Administrator, and a staff of 31 full-time employees. Justice Court hears probable cause, arraignments, preliminary hearings, misdemeanor and traffic trials, bond forfeitures, evictions, small claims matters where the amount in controversy does not exceed $10,000, and civil matters where the amount in controversy does not exceed $15,000. Other duties performed by the Justices of the Peace include setting bail, issuing search warrants, summonses, protective orders and arrest warrants.
