Deputy Fire Chief Wayne Dailey

Deputy Fire Chief Wayne Dailey began his public safety career in 1990 working in Southern California as a Park Ranger with both fire protection and law enforcement responsibilities. He relocated to Las Vegas in 2001 and worked for the Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF), Mount Charleston Fire Protection District. He served in the district as a firefighter/AEMT and engine operator until 2004 when he was promoted to the position of Southern Region Fire Management officer (FMO). As FMO he led as the command officer for the district as well as coordinating NDF fire operations in Southern Nevada.

He was hired by the Clark County Fire Department in 2006 as a Fire Inspector and worked in that capacity for more than 13 years until he was promoted to Fire Plans Checker in July of 2019. He was promoted to Assistant Fire Chief in November 2019 and named Deputy Fire Chief in January 2024. Prior to his promotion to Assistant Fire Chief, he served on the Local 1908 Executive Board.

Chief Dailey is a charter member of the Southern Nevada Unified Command Type 3 Incident Management Team serving as a Plans Section Chief. He served on the executive board of the Fire Prevention Association of Nevada (FPAN) starting as Vice President in 2012 and subsequently served six years as President from 2013 - 2019. He is an ICC Certified Fire Marshal (CFM) and holds a dual B.S. degree in Fire Administration and Fire Prevention Technology from Cogswell Polytechnical College and a M.S. degree in Safety, Security and Emergency Management from Eastern Kentucky University.

He has been married to his wife Deb for more than 25 years and together they enjoy family time with their four children and grandchildren.
